As we start the early election and prepare for election day, I thought I would offer the following prayer for God’s people to use over the next couple of weeks.

Almighty God, Who holds your people to give an accounting of their use of the talents, privileges, and powers You have entrusted to them; we pray that You will guide your people as they elect their government officials and representatives. We pray for civility and respect; for the rights of all people to be protected; for your desire and will to be revealed and accepted by all the faithful. We pray that your church, which has been so divided by politics, may put aside all political ideologies and be united in your mission and purpose for our lives, for the sake of Jesus Christ, Lord of lords and King of kings. Amen.
